Organic Chemistry Tutor Ben Wilson Shares With Us His Secret - Make Diastereomers From Organic Acids

Organic Chemistry Tutor Ben Wilson Shares With Us His Secret - Make Diastereomers From Organic AcidsOrganic chemistry tutor Ben Wilson shares with us how to make a very profitable dia teromer. You could have never dreamed that you could develop something like this.Ben Wilson is an organic chemistry tutor who has developed a liquid carbon dioxide dia teromer which he believes can be the next great material for liquid CO2 conversion. He believes that the liquid carbon dioxide is the starting point of carbon dioxide conversion, and he believes that dia teromers made from CO2 are likely to be more efficient than CO2 monomers. And he is correct. The idea of diastereomers was first conceived by Ben Wilson when he was a graduate student in organic chemistry, and he wrote this article with organic chemistry tutor, Timothy Wood for his article on diastereomers. The ideas were given to him by others, but the details are his own.Diastereomer is the chemical name for a monomer that is bonded t o both a carboxylate group and an alcohol group, or an ester group and a hydroxyl group. Normally, if you apply heat to these two compounds, then the monomer bonds to each one at a different place, resulting in a diastereomeric compound. This is a simple example, but it does illustrate the concept. By using diastereomers, each molecule can form two bonds, instead of just one.Ben Wilson believes that carbon dioxide is the starting point of liquid CO2 conversion, and he believes that diastereomers made from CO2 are likely to be more efficient than CO2 monomers. And he is correct. In organic chemistry, ben Wilson has made diastereomers from carbon dioxide and alcohols in the same method ashe has made other simple diastereomers. There are some things to consider here. His diastereomeric materials for liquid CO2 conversion are not as efficient as he would like them to be.Ben Wilson has used a pressure-chemical process for developing his diastereomers. But there are other ways to make dias tereomers, which will produce better results. The key is to make a diastereomer from a simple monomer, while still keeping the two atoms close together. Ben Wilson believes that this can be done easily. As the solvent molecules in the reaction are mostly O molecules, they will be tightly bound together. And because the molecules are highly electronegative, they will interact more strongly with the solvent, making a close bond between the alcohol and carboxylate. The idea of diastereomers has been well known for over twenty years, but the question of whether to make diastereomers from organic acids has been unanswered for sometime.

How to help your child deal with stress this exam season

How to help your child deal with stress this exam season Exam season can be one of the most stressful times in your child's life, where the pressure they experience impacts the way they think, feel and behave. It is important to know that feeling some stress is normal and causes our 'fight or flight' response to kick in, which can help your child to perform well during their exams. However, when these nerves become unrelenting and overwhelming, this can be dangerous to their health and wellbeing. If you are worried about your child's stress levels, check for symptoms. Are they more tired and irritable than usual? Are they leaving more of their meals or are you finding their uneaten school lunches? Are they spending less time doing the activities they once enjoyed? If your child is exhibiting these signs, take the time to help them manage their stress so that it doesn't have a long term impact where unhealthy coping habits take hold. Dr Hayley van Zwanenberg - Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Priory Group - has outlined the steps you can take to help your child look after themselves when going through exam season. Get your child to talk about how they feel Choose a time when you and your child are both free to talk without any distractions. You may want to go for a walk or drive together after dinner, so that they don't feel pressured by the one-on-one conversation. Ask your child how they feel and remind them it is normal to have strong emotions like anger, anxiousness and sadness from time-to-time. If they are worried about failing their exams, try to challenge their irrational thinking by helping them to see the hard work and dedication that they've put in over the period. If they are worrying about a worst case scenario, make them aware that they are creating a catastrophe in their head without evidence it will happen. Suggest to them options that would work if things do not go to plan so they can see they always have positive opportunities. Remind your child that you are here to talk to them whenever they need, so that they know that they can turn to you in moments when they feel stressed. Make sure they have a good balance of revision and relaxation Don't put pressure on your child to revise all the time, and make sure that they don't put this pressure on themselves. When they are taking time away from their books, encourage them to get outside and exercise, as this can help to improve their mood and sleep pattern. Maybe suggest a sports activity that you can do together so they feel more encouraged to go. Also make sure that their relaxation time isn't solely spent looking at screens, especially in the hour before bedtime. Distract and divert their attention when they're getting stressed During the moments when you feel your child's stress levels rising, suggest an activity that you can do together to help distract them from their worries. Watch their favourite film together, go through old photo albums or even watch funny YouTube videos together. Giving them this light relief can help to prevent their stress from escalating into something that they then struggle to manage. Teach them stress-busting strategies There are a number of strategies that you can teach your child to help them relax. Firstly, get them to visualise their worries, and then to build a metaphorical brick wall between themselves and their stressful thoughts. You can also ask them to set an expiration time on their worry. Urge them not to think about their exam worries for any more than 10 minutes in the morning or at night, as any more could lead to a pattern of constant worry. You may also want to try getting your child to think of a relaxing memory. Ask them to describe it to you in detail, including what they hear, smell, see and feel. If they practice going to this place in their head when they feel stressed, this can be a strategy they can use to relax and distract themselves from their worries. By helping your child to learn how to manage their exam stress, this can help to prevent it from snowballing into something that impacts their health and wellbeing. If you feel that their stress isn't improving, you may need to book an appointment with your GP, who will be able to talk to you about the help and support that is available.

How to Become a Drum Teacher How Would You Like to be a Drum Teacher? ChaptersBeing a Drum Teacher in a SchoolFor the Drummer Who Has Not Attended UniBecoming a Private Drum TeacherOne has to wonder: how many people learn to play the drums strictly for the purpose of becoming a teacher of drumming?Did you pick up your first pair of drumsticks with the intent of developing a pedagogy that will make you the Mr. Holland of percussion?Of all the reasons to play the drums â€" and there are many good ones!, the most likely reasons people learn how to beat a drum is to express themselves creatively and/or because someone they admire also plays. There are plenty of admirable drummers out there to emulate, and that is a part of the problem. The phrase  It’s lonely at the top is apt: only so many drummers form the backbeat to big-name acts, and the percentage of drummers who land regular gigs is actually relatively small. What happens to the rest of the drummers out there?Common sense dictates that, rather than hold out of that big break that may or may not ever come no matter how good you are; rather than starve, one must find a way to earn a living.Teaching is a time-honoured way to do so.If you’re between gigs just now, why not ply your skill at drumming in a classroom, or by teaching the drums one to one?Consider this your roadmap of sorts, one that will help you find a satisfying gig: awakening the passion you feel for drums in young (or not so young) learners.11 conservatoires or music schools of renown in the UK, or if you have graduated from one of said schools, then congratulations: you are already on your way to becoming a music teacher. To teach in a public or private school in our country, at primary or secondary level, you must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in your chosen field. To teach at university, you would need a Master’s degree or higher. So, if you are still at the garage band stage, or even if you’ve played at local venues such as summer festivals, but have not yet formalised your knowledge of drums by earning a degree...You are well ahead of the crowds: your audition will be stellar!Yes, you must audition in order to gain entry to some of those schools. You will also need A-levels but, as far as we know, there is no such exam for drumming. Therefore, you may need to select music theory for one of your A-level topics. And you should know more about percussion instruments: timpani for example, and xylophones, cowbells, a cajon, congas and bongos; gongs, and more about cymbals that don’t figure on a standard drum kit.Depending on which school you select, you will spend three to four years in class, but you will also participate in concerts, ensembles... and may even be invited to perform around the community!Perhaps the best part about formalising your music education is the networking and connections you’ll make.As you launch yourself into the world of teaching the drums, your university classmates and instructors will be indispensable: to guide and advise you, to vent your frustrations to and to share your successes with. After all is said and done, what type of drumming would you teach in secondary schools?Marching band â€" if your prospective school doesn’t yet have one, you may start it!orchestra and symphonypercussion ensemblejazz drummingThe choices are endless!  Working with your local music store may help you establish yourself as a drum teacher Source: Pixabay Credit: Ryan McGuireFor the Drummer Who Has Not Attended UniGranted, not everyone anticipates treading the hallowed halls of academia, as engaging as those music courses sound. If that is you, you may be pondering your prospects as a drummer who wants to teach others how great it is to play the drums. They’re not as bad as you think! You have several avenues to pursue that may provide you with a satisfying income as a teacher all while continuing to play drums yourself. In fact, the more experience you gain as a drummer, the more credible you will be as a teacher!Gaining exposure as a drummer is vital to your growing your business as a drum instructor. It’s not enough to talk yourself up on drum forums and play the occasional club, you have to really get your name out there!Find some tutoring jobs London.Hosting Drum ClinicsA drum clinic is a demonstration of drumming technique followed by a question and answer type discussion on select aspects of drumming. They are usually hosted in music stores â€" both those that sell recorded music and those that sell instruments.Ideally, you should host your clinic in a store that sells drums!Setting up a drum clinic is not difficult: simply talk with such store managers about your desire to host a clinic. 2 Ways Introverts Impact Their Career Goals

Introvert Whisperer / 2 Ways Introverts Impact Their Career Goals 2 Ways Introverts Impact their Career Goals (and what to do) The Importance of Understanding Who You Are If youre reading this, chances are you are an Introvert, or think you are. That probably means you have some idea of specific behaviors associated with your personality. The question I would like you to ponder about your personality is: When or where is your introversion creating issues in your career? I believe its important for you to understand as much as you can about your Introvert personality. I also think you need to have awareness of where it might not be serving you so you can pursue meaningful improvements. In my work with our type of career clients, I started seeing some trends of challenges that were limiting their professional potential. Id like to bring these to your attention for some self-awareness and at the same time, offer some solutions. Issue: Not developing, nurturing and expanding your network. We do like to focus on work and tasks which can often times mean we ignore nurturing our networking and meeting new people. Add to that issue, most of us would rather lick the floor than go to a cocktail party or networking event. I get it. Those things suck the energy right out of your battery and competing with louder more talkative people for talk time is no fun. In other words, there are all sorts of good Introvert reasons this issue exists. Solution: No, Im not going to tell you to turn into an Extravert (notice I spelled it with an a thats me being all proper!) You dont have to become a party gladiator. In fact, all you really need to do is to pay attention to people you encounter in your job. You may have vendors, customers, and co-workers at your disposal. Enough to keep you busy for a long time. Take time every day to get to know these people better. If that circle is too small, no problem.   Do you know what your next career step is? Accelerate your career by connecting with your Free Instant Access to my eBook on how to construct your Career SMART Goals! You can also: Get on Linked In and reconnect with college friends and co-workers from previous jobs. When you really get the wheels turning, youll suddenly discover tons of people out there you can get to know fairly easily. This also plays to our personality of forming and nurturing relationships one person at a time. Pure gold!   Issue: Not developing relationships with decision makers. While were busy ignoring our network, we are usually ignoring relationships with upper management. This kind of behavior is sometimes looked at with disdain because it can come off as a suck-up. Im here to say, its important and which would you rather have: 1- the high moral ground that youre not a suck-up or 2- a promotion? I hope you picked #2. You need to understand that management is the decision makers over your next promotion or opportunity to excel. They need to know 2 things about you: 1- What and how you are doing that is noteworthy, especially to them. 2- Whether or not you get it about whats important to them. In order for your leader to know these things, you need to develop a working relationship with them. They need to know not only how you do your work, they need to know if you have their back. In other words, do you know and understand their priorities? The only way is if you spend time with them, develop a relationship and support whats important to them. Yes, its all about them. It always is. Your customer is the big C or management or both. Until your customer knows you understand whats important to them and will support them, decisions will go to others. Understanding your personality is important as long as you understand how to lean into the parts that work well for you and have strategies for the parts that dont work as well. The strategies for improvement are simple but powerful for your long-term success. Do you know what your next career step is? Many people don’t.
